Smoking is really bad for the environment and helps to cause global warming.  Many forests are being destroyed each year to make cigarettes.

In many developing countries, land is being used to grow tobacco instead of food - making it harder to get food.

 

There are approximately 6000 fires in the UK each year that are caused by lit cigarettes, lighters or matches.

 

300 million cigarette ends are thrown away every day in the uk!

 

Water, pesticides, fertilisers and weedkiller are all used to grow tobacco.
