How far into the pregnancy can you detect a heart problem?
We normally advise a special scan of the babies heart at around 20 weeks or 4 1/2 months. This means the baby is big enough to see their heart properly on the scan.
It is possible to see some heart defects as early as 14-16weeks. However it is possible to miss some simple problems
