After 20mins     -     Your blood pressure and pulse rate will return to normal

 

After 8 hours     -     Nicotine and carbon monoxide levels (poisonous gas in cigarette smoke) in the blood are halved and oxygen levels in the blood return to what is normal for you

 

After 24 hours     -     Carbon monoxide is eliminated from your body andyour lungs start to clearout mucus and other smoking "rubbish"

 

After 48 hours     -     No nicotine is left in your body and your ability to taste and smell will begin to improve
