Recommendations For Safe Exercise

  • Always begin with a little and do more as the activity becomes easier for you
  • Always warm up before the activity by starting slowly and build up the pace gradually to a moderate level
  • Always cool down after the activity by reducing your pace back to a resting state
  • Moderate activity is recommended;  remember it is normal to feel:

 

  • Slightly breathless
  • Warm, flushed or slightly sweaty
  • Heart beating faster

 

  • If you experience any of the following on activity slow down or stop what you are doing as they are signs that you are doing too much:
    • Uncomfortable breathing
    • Excessive tiredness
    • Excessive sweating
    • Dizziness
    • Palpitations

 

Once comfortable, restart your activity at a comfortable pace
