Recommendations For Safe Exercise
- Always begin with a little and do more as the activity becomes easier for you
- Always warm up before the activity by starting slowly and build up the pace gradually to a moderate level
- Always cool down after the activity by reducing your pace back to a resting state
- Moderate activity is recommended; remember it is normal to feel:
- Slightly breathless
- Warm, flushed or slightly sweaty
- Heart beating faster
- If you experience any of the following on activity slow down or stop what you are doing as they are signs that you are doing too much:
- Uncomfortable breathing
- Excessive tiredness
- Excessive sweating
- Dizziness
- Palpitations
Once comfortable, restart your activity at a comfortable pace
