Theme Parks

Be sensible!!  Many of the extreme rides will make your heart beat faster and increase your blood pressure – which means your heart will have to work harder.

Depends what’s wrong with your heart – ask your nurse or doctor.

Those that use G force put an extra strain on your heart:-

Positive G force (shooting you upward very quickly!) means you will become heavier and your blood will be pushed towards your feet.  Your heart has to work very hard to pump your blood around.

Negative G force (where you drop downwards very quickly) means you will become lighter and your blood will rush to your head.  If you are on warfarin then it may cause tiny blood vessels in your eyes to burst.

Be careful of rides that bump you about – particularly if you are on warfarin – you may end up with some impressive bruises!

Some rides may make some people feel quite faint.

If you have a pacemaker in particularly if you have a special one that can deliver a shock – you should not go on these types of rides.
